Discovery Oil A Natural Alternative to Teak Oil
Discovery Marine Timber Oil has been formulated for use by everyone and only includes natural products to give a water resistant barrier and nourishment for most timbers. It will not crack or peel as itnon-skin forming. Based on pure Tung Nut oil that has been ised by the Chinese for thousands of years to protect marine timbers. Plant extracts act as a drying agent with pure bees wax (mainly U.K sourced) is used to help with water to bead rather than sink into the timber. After the initial application a light lint free cloth wipe down should be all you require to keep your timber looking good. It is ideal for use on most bright work i.e toe rails, grab rails, cockpit seating gratings and much more. It can be used on main decks but will require more upkeep due to heavy traffic. Your craft is for pleasure and not a second job so a little effort at the start will save you a lot of effort later. Discovery Oil can be used all year round with only the initial process needed to be applied to dry timber. Since the launch in September 2013 demand has grown rapidly and has become a favourite of many boat owners. It is now available from selected stockists. (see below)
